Eat

  KUNISAKI-city is famous for seafood, especially silver cutlassfish because it is oily and soft and that means taste is better than others. In addition, the city has the highest yield of the silver cutlassfish in the japan. What a wonderful balance it is! Therefore, if you go to KUNISAKI-city, I recommend that you eat some foods that are made with KUNISAKI-city’s silver cutlassfish.  

  Before introducing the foods, you need to know about the Michi-no-Eki where I ate the foods. It creates a safe, comfortable road traffic environment, and is unique, lively space that showcased the individuality of a region. Selling special foods is one of the Michi-no-Eki’s methods that it uses for performance of its roles, and It is very good one because I got to like KUNISAKI-city. From now on, I let you know the foods that I ate in KUNISAKI-city. These are the foods that I ate ; cutlassfish sushi, cutlassfish cutlet, Tachijyu(a bowl of rice with cooked cutlassfish seasoning with salt or sweet stuff), dried mushroom, fish cake, and kabasuduke; candied Kabosu; and my and other people’s reviews. Do you know that there is cutlassfish sushi? I ate many pieces of sushi,

but cutlassfish sushi of KUNISAKI-city was my first cutlassfish sushi.

More surprisingly, I did not know that cutlassfish sushi exists until I ate it.

On the other word, opportunities of eating cutlassfish sushi are uncommon.

Therefore, not missing the opportunity is better to you if you like raw fish.

It was delicious like all sushi, but the fish on the rice is very thick.

 It had a clean taste and nice balance in flavors.

Its texture was also great.

It was more chewy than other fish of sushi that I have eaten.

Cutlassfish Sushi
 Kabosuduke

This is candied kabosu, and

Kabosu(かぼす) is a type of citron.

Its pulp is so acid that it is used as a vinegar.

When cooked, the thick green skin turns yellow.

A real surprise, it looked amazing and tasted nice too.

The flavor was mild and balanced,

but children do not like it because of this texture.

Dried Mushroom

That did not taste as mushroom as you would think

and did not look like mushroom.

It had also very nice crunch.

It will be good for adult's snack,

but children might be able to hate it because of flavor.

If you want to give your children some healthy snacks,

it will be a good one to put sugar, jam or honey on it.

Tachijyu

This is a bowl of rice with cutlassfish

seasoning with salt or sweet stuff.

The cooked cutlassfish on the rice is very soft and

taste of that was moderately salty and sweet

like teriyaki, but it is a little different.

The harmony of the laver with fish was excellent.

Your family will be love it, especially children.

Fish cake

It was like other fish cake.

It was not special about taste,

but texture was a little harder than others. However, it was impressive

that It looks like the cutlassfish.

If you cook other foods using this,

it will be great.

Cutlassfish Cutlet

It was like other fish cutlets,

but softer and thinner than them.

It had creamy texture

that was very nicely balanced

with the crunchy exterior more than others.   

  The Michi-no-Eki sells not only cutlassfish foods but also other seafood like dried shrimp, dried crab, a variety of fish, and cereal crops like chestnut, peanut and so on. I also ate a few dried shrimps, it can be a good snack for adults like dried mushroom. How about eating various foods of KUNISAKI-city and buying something fresher than anywhere else?
